As many of you may be aware the Expressive Arts Drama and Music departments have been holding auditions for our end of year School Show - The Abba Experience. What a fantastic turnout! Our pupils have made this audition process so difficult, the talent has been incredible. The cast lists have been placed on the Production notice board in the Drama and Music block. If any pupils would like to join the ensemble / chorus please pop and see Mrs Beesley in room 83. The performance will take place on July 7th and July 8th in LLC Hall, where we will transport you to a Greek Taverna. More details to follow but thank you for the support! Mrs Beesley and Team

Yesterday, our Year 9 pupils took part in an exciting STEM Day filled with inspiring workshops and activities. Here's what they were involved in: 1 Tallest Paper Tower Challenge: Teams worked together to design and construct the tallest, most stable paper towers! 2 Speed Challenge: Pupils designed and built cars in preparation for the ultimate Speed Challenge workshop in the Hall. 3 Creative Engineering with Metallised Paper: Students crafted innovative items while learning about engineering skills and exploring apprenticeship routes into the field. 4 Prosthetics in Motion: Pupils created prosthetic arms from Lego, which were then used in a competition to pick up ping pong balls. 5 Interactive Seminar on the Genetics of Taste: Pupils explored how genetics influence taste preferences in an engaging seminar. 6 Water Treatment Science and Engineering: Hands-on experience delving into the processes and technology behind water treatment. 7 Exploring Biomedical Engineering: Pupils discovered the diversity of biomedical engineering through practical activities. 8 Thermal Imaging Cameras: A hands-on workshop introducing pupils to the science behind thermal imaging. 9 Coding in STEM: Pupils explored the fundamentals of coding and its role in STEM fields. This event showcased problem-solving, teamwork, and hands-on learning. Well done, Year 9 – fantastic work! A huge thank you to the STEM Ambassadors, local universities, and outreach providers who supported this event, including one provider who traveled all the way from Pembroke Dock. I am sure that the workshops have shown our pupils all of the career opportunities available within STEM.

Yesterday, our netball teams faced Bryntirion in two incredibly competitive games. The Year 9 team secured a fantastic win by 2 goals, with Lily Thomas being named Seren y Gem for her outstanding performance. The Year 8 team played brilliantly but narrowly missed victory, losing by just 1 goal, with Seren Hosey earning Seren y Gem for her efforts.
