Dyfodol Dyfodol

In recognition of the diverse needs of our pupils, we have a well established Dyfodol provision for learners in years 7-11. The Dyfodol provision supports learners who may find the normal timetabling of a comprehensive school challenging. This provision maximises the opportunities to learn. Pupils have access to a full-time secondary learning experience to provide a curriculum tailored to each individual pupil to effectively bridge the gap between primary and secondary school. Our Dyfodol pupil

Our Dyfodol pupils' curriculum is truly built around their individual needs and interests. It actively promotes a growth mindset and focuses on social and emotional wellbeing. Dyfodol aims to provide pupils with the tools to cope with secondary classes. It creates a calm, inviting environment where pupils are comfortable to talk and ask questions. Pupils are actively encouraged to express their opinions, work towards independence, and build self-esteem.

In KS3, pupils attend most expedition days in a secondary setting but will stay in Dyfodol for LLC, Humanities, and some numeracy sessions. Pupils will also attend practical subjects such as; Art, D&T, Textiles, Food, Science, and PE in the secondary setting.

In KS4, our pupils attend Science, Maths and an option of their choice in a mainstream setting. They attend Dyfodol for English, Skills and King's Trust. Our King's Trust centre agreement can be located below.

All year groups are capped at 15 pupils per class, this is to ensure we can provide our pupils with the tailored curriculum and environment they need. Places are allocated through a referral process before transition, please note, that a referral does not mean a confirmed place. Places are allocated to our primary feeder schools in the first instance.

Should you have any queries about the Dyfodol provision or the referral process, please get in touch with Lauren Feeley - Dyfodol Provision Learning Coordinator on FeeleyL7@hwbcymru.net
